Kourtney Kardashian Show’s Off Her Kids’ Playhouse ⇒ There are perks to being one of Scott Disick and Kourtney Kardashian’s three children—and these include a custom (and kiddie-sized) manse. The luxe playhouse, which was created for Disick’s E! show Flip It Like Disick, is sure to be trendsetting—like the Kardashians themselves.

The structure is situated on the James Hyatt Studio–designed grounds behind Kardashian’s residence in Calabasas, California. It’s more modern than the Poosh founder’s Italian-influenced home—but there’s a freshness to it that enhances the sprawling estate. (Plus, it was fashioned from ipe wood to match the pergolas.) “Everything that I looked at was a more modern, simple, sophisticated design,” says Kardashian. “I think this is modern, but I think it’s still cosy.”
The playhouse boasts clean lines and grand windows—and soon even air-conditioning. Inside, the cream-coloured furnishings include a custom mod couch, which came from Kourtney’s sister Kim Kardashian West. “She had it made,” shares Kardashian. “I thought it was perfect. It didn’t really go anywhere else.” The walls are decorated with pieces from Penelope (Kardashian’s second child) and Timmy Sneaks—a Boston-based mixed-media artist that Disick commissioned after seeing his work on Instagram.

Space, which includes a lofted nook, is coloured with books and plush creatures from brands like Blabla Kids and JellyCat. Some of the items, such as the rocking horse, have belonged to Kourtney since she was a child. The leather-covered Minnie Mouse dolls were purchased from Coach’s collection with Disney. “I love those,” comments Kardashian. “My assistant got those for my birthday because I’m a big Disney-obsessed person.”
The playhouse brims with goodies, but it’s electronics-free. Kardashian explains: “The kids wanted a TV and we were like, ‘No.’ There are books in there, and it’s cute for playing games. The biggest thing is to use your imagination and have time to relax. It’s a place to lounge and read books and play.” But how are the white-washed interiors so pristine? Kardashian intimates: “I get rugs cleaned an insanely abnormal amount of times.”
The playhouse is an extension of Kardashian’s style, which is chic and informed—and infused with emotion. “I like stuff with a story,” she says. “Pretty much everything in my house has somewhat of a story and meaning.” This includes her art collection, which features Chris Burden, Mary Corse, Damien Hirst, Thomas Houseago, Herb Ritts, and Richard Serra.
